MY 9-08 Experience
Started my morning reflecting on NYC 9-11
over breakfast while looking over my schedule of September 8, 2026.
This day ended like the second most unforgettable day ever.

7:50 p.m. leaving my volunteer museum assignment for the day, I jumped on
the elevator to head home after a long productive day.

Headed down, something very unusual and unexpected
happened. A loud mechanical sound and a quick jerk,
the elevator stopped and dead silence and shock filled my mind.
I knew exactly what to do as it was recently and discussed with me by the
building mechanic Dave.
* * *
Step one, call Dave. Step two he will call 911 and head from home to
the building. Step three. my part, take a break.

Wait. This could take some time. I started texting Dave
everything I could see and hear from lights, buttons, sounds, and my comfort
level moment by moment.

Faint voices, and strange sounds overhead until an overhead opening
appeared.

A face and a smile in both directions 8:45 p.m.

Dave, they are here. I see one, but it sounds like a crowd somewhere
nearby.
Quick conversation and a plan was coming together.

A ladder is coming. Standby.

Yes, I can climb, twist, turn, and remain calm you bet. Second option
choice was offered but this fit my fancy.

Well this will be a first for me.

Dave, I expected to see you one day next week and not tonight, but thanks
for taking this picture as I was not in the position to do so at the time.

Calm Dave reports the successful recovery to those who need to know.
All in a day for Dave. Dave, I said, "it was great that I got the
chance to test the plan. I was up to it, and better for me than anyone
else. I liked the adventure when I think about what happened on 9-11
NYC. This was nothing". Lets go home.
Thank You ALL!
